One, I've always disliked the 'raving paranoid' interpretation of Red Alert. Guys, in 'Auto Berserk', he was malfunctioning! If you're in your normal condition, you don't need to be shot in the head by Starcream to keep your head from exploding! Showing him as a competent security director is cool--he should be a lot like whoever's in charge of the President's Secret Service detachment. I don't get to write Red Alert very often myself, because I don't do Autobot stories much.
Two, nice twist at the end. Human or Decepticon attack? I've noticed that the Decepticons don't seem to think very often of getting at the Autobots through their human friends, beyond just grabbing a squishy hostage in a fight.
