They rarely seem to, hence the amounts of wank from a fandom with both too much and not enough information.
(It's got a ton as it is, which is surprising considering how buried in the archives it is. Not to mention that it's spawned at least two pieces of fanart, and on that note someone's also used your "Starscream attempts to commit suicide by jamming Megatron into his mouth" pic as a fic inspiration. A bad one.)
