The tacscreen as a reason for optics to glow makes as much sense as anything, I suppose. I'm not sure why they'd need to project it when they could just 'see' it in their heads easily enough, but then, there is no reason for glowing optics at all.
He glanced at Sphaleros Prime, the tan missile truck fuming and glared as he hung one-handed from the wall, unconsciously imitating Megatron's posture.
That caught my attention. Dunno why.
Sphaleros is kind of an idiot.
Headshrinker's ending makes me really happy for him, and he's a horrible person. Hrm.

Possibly for the same reason they use keyboards when they could do everything via wireless. Perhaps to reinforce their awareness of their bodies, their existence as physical beings rather than beings of data, which could lead them to feeling disconnected from their bodies, which in turn might have a negative impact on how they interact with the physical world.
I'm not sure why I mentioned it either.
He's mentally ill. That's why he was on Sphaleron to start with.
Sometimes I write happy endings! :D

Or, hmm, I wonder if it is a holdover from once being sold goods. It might be a bit spooky for an owner if his slave does everything invisibly via wireless, but if the slave has to go type things on a keyboard, it is a bit easier to keep track of what he's doing.
I guess it is sort of sad how Sphaleros thinks he has enslaved Megatron, when really, all Sphaleros has done is try to be like Megatron and failed at it, too.
I know Sphaleros is mentally ill, and Optimus Prime makes a lot of dumb mistakes around Megatron, too (like that duel), but as someone who has seen all the cartoon and comics, I want to grab Sphaleros, shake him, and shout, "Megatron is a lying liar who lies, you idiot!"
Maybe that is why I was happy for Headshrinker. Headshrinker realises that Megatron is a lying liar who lies and makes the best of it, thereby proving himself to have the most common sense and survival skills of any Autobot in this story, even if it thereby means he ceases to be an Autobot.

Or the owner might not have the right sort of systems. Or any one of a million things. Like needing manual backup systems in case of enemy ECM, or indeed just a flat-out network fail.
Something to do with that, yes.
He's an eejit. That happens sometimes.
Quite possibly. It's not as if the story isn't written on his side ;)
